working together for the future of faith

Purpose

FaithFutures Foundation exists to facilitate the interaction of scholarship and religion for the sake of re-envisioning the forms and roles of religion.

In pursuit of that purpose---and without limiting the freedom of our members to organize in any manner, at any scale, in any area, and around any issue or activity which is relevant to and consistent with the Preamble, Purpose and Principles---the primary activities of FFF as a global organization will include but not be limited to the following:

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Identify, encourage and support grassroots organizations, including especially local cooperative circles, with a concern to integrate the practice of religion with insights from scholarship. This will include support for individual scholars or religious practitioners who may contribute to the development and leadership of such local circles.

RESEARCH FUNDING
Raise and distribute funds to support research and publication in religion as well as the adoption and application of historical and scientific scholarship by theologians and religious communities. This will include, but not be limited to, funding of research and publication projects by individual scholars and by groups of scholars. It will also include funding for conference expenses and study projects that will assist religious practitioners in exploring the relevance of religion scholarship to them, and ways of incorporating that scholarship into their faith communities.

EVENTS
Sponsorship of events (conferences, electronic forums, seminars and workshops) designed to advance the integration of religion and scholarship and especially to make such scholarship more accessible to non-specialists. These will include web-based activities as well as traditional events in a physical location.

PUBLICATIONS
Material relating to the processes and findings of religion scholars, as well as the application of their work to both traditional and experimental religious communities, will be published in digital form. While some limited print publication may also occur, web-based services and information will comprise the core of these publication functions.
